A family-run, full-service logistics business founded in 1979, CalCargo handles, stores and transports a range of goods -- from paper roll products to hi-tech electronics to alcoholic beverages -- from manufacturers, distributors and shippers throughout North America and overseas to their customers in the United States, particularly in Northern and Central California.
From its early focus of specializing in goods for the newsprint industry, CalCargo has evolved into a modern, diverse logistics company providing customized warehouse handling, distribution and value-added services to our clients. Through our approach of combining various process modules, we are able to create logistics solutions that offer our clients truly exceptional value at competitive prices.
Our reputation has grown as a result of integrity, strong processes and adherence to standard operating procedures resulting in a consistent customer service orientation. Our partners have total confidence in our abilities and our solutions.
The key to our success has always been our employees and their commitment to providing our customers with the highest quality of service. Our philosophy is that our business will be successful and profitable if we pay close attention to the basics: consistent, quality service; superior treatment and training of employees; creative and enlightened management, and respect for our customers and their goods. Many of our employees have more than 10 years of service with the company, and several more than 15 years.
We occupy over 140,000 square feet of modern warehouse space, with 14 dock, two street, and seven rail doors. We dispatch over 45 trucks daily for distribution and consolidation. Our fleet includes dry vans, flat beds, curtain vans, and straight trucks with lift gates.
Our transportation fleet supports the Port of Oakland container and intermodal terminals with drayage to the extended San Francisco Bay Area and much of Northern California.
We maintain a coverage that includes all of Northern California, from San Francisco to Reno, from Fresno to Redding. Our Inventory Management and Distribution System (IMDS) utilizes EDI, Internet, scanning and computerized dispatch to manage and provide time-sensitive information to clients and staff.
Our services include public and contract storage, freight consolidation, pool distribution, pick & pack, postponement, repackaging, inventory and information management, freight delivery, import/export services and many highly customized services.
